Janell Pittman, Chief Marketing and Digital Strategy Officer, MercyOne, selected as Awardee

The Exceptional Women Alliance (EWA) announces the selection of Winter 2023 awardee, Janell Pittman, Chief Marketing and Digital Strategy Officer, MercyOne. She led the teams behind launching the unified MercyOne brand and culture work which united 20,000 colleagues across more than 200 locations to work as one. She is currently responsible for advancing MercyOne’s marketing, communications, decision support and digital health strategy.


As an executive leader with a rich background in brand building, marketing, and change management, Ms. Pittman leads teams that are passionate about advancing the MercyOne brand both internally and externally. Her talents leading by influence are evidenced in her successes leading and implementing digital and telehealth strategies to advance MercyOne's vision to set the standard for personalized and radically convenient care. She was recognized by Becker’s as one of 50 top chief digital strategy officers to know.

Before joining MercyOne in early 2017, Ms. Pittman spent nearly ten years at Meredith Corporation (MDP). At Meredith, she served as the vice president and general manager for digital brands, including AllRecipes, Meredith’s flagship Better Homes and Gardens, and Martha Stewart. There she was the hub for an extended team which included editors, site marketers, product management, developers, and subscription marketers. In addition to leading cross-functional teams to create world-class consumer experiences, she also led brands with challenging P&Ls to profitability.


Ms. Pittman also worked in brand management with Nestlé Purina and was a consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. She worked in North America and Europe, where she helped Fortune 100 and 500 clients across industries to improve profitability.
